High Capacity
Modern AC fuel pumps installed on a locomotive pull much more current than the original equipment relay is designed to carry, especially those equipped with electronic fuel injection.
- Original relay load rating – 10 amps
- Current measured on EFI equipped engine – 17 amps
The higher current load leads to premature failure of the relay
The turbo lube pump application may also overload a standard relay
Relay Systems offers a high capacity relay which easily carries the additional load of an EFI engine fuel pump
- Continuous rating of over 30 amps
